Ethan Wate lives in a small town, where nothing changes, there are no secrets and everybody knows who they're friends with from the first time they meet. But a girl, Lena, comes into town and with her Ethan finds out there're more secrets in that little town than you'd think.
Ethan is one of the townspeople, even if he doesn't want to be, but still he stands up for Lena, who everyone seems to hate and do everything in their power to get rid of for good.
When Ethan finds out what Lena really is, and what're the secrets behind her, he can't pull away and is forever entwined with her.

And yes, I know, I suck at explaining, but it feels boring to just put the back cover here so I'm doing my best!

This book had me hooked from the very start. It was painful, since I had a rather long text to read before I could start this book, but it seemed so good that I couldn't help but read a bit and after that it was almost impossible to resist it. Luckily I got the text read and could finally really dive into the book, and it was so good I had a hard time putting it down to do anything. I just kept reading and couldn't wait to find out more and more, and at the same time I was afraid it would end and I wouldn't have the next book for who know's how long. But it was worth it.

I think this was a really unique book, which surprised me since I hadn't read anything so good since, well since I'd read Twilight and The Host. It felt great to wait for time to read even just a few pages, no matter how fast or how little, as long as I could read. It brought me back to the time when I was reading New Moon and I still remember the excitement when I was reading the book, and this was so similiar I wanted to cry. This is the kind of book I live for, the kind of book every reader dreams of, the kind that makes it feel impossible you don't read every single second of the day instead of going to school and work and to the store. The kind of book that doesn't need anything more than itself to make the reader happy.

These were my feelings almost throughout the whole book. But the end was really peculiar. I don't know how to describe it, but it left me feeling really weird and messed up. It wasn't at all the kind of ending I was looking for, and it left everything open. It really annoyed me, since I didn't feel like I wanted to read more. The end sort of just happened, first it was so exciting, and it felt like in the next sentence it ended and that was it. There was a few pages after that, but they seemed to say nothing at all, like they were written just so the end wouldn't be so boring and simple and, well, short. It left me feeling really weird, and for a few days I didn't know what to do with myself. I couldn't open another book because of the feeling the end of this book left me with.

All in all it was a good book, and after I got over the first impression the end left me I found myself wondering how does it continue, and I'm thinking of buying the next book anyway.
